
THE HISTORIAN
Brianna Hogg, Doctoral Candidate, SMU
Brianna specializes in African American studies, oral history, and urban history. She received her training from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX. During her college career at SMU, she helped curated the Anti-Apartheid Movement in North Texas project during her senior year, wrote and published several articles and essays, including the Biography of Baleka Mbete-Kgositsile and Dr. Benjamin Bluitt and the Sanitarium, and is now working on her dissertation which examines the impact of urban renewal projects on black inner city communities in the southern sector of Dallas.
